Jsme rodinné nakladatelství, které spoluvlastní otec a syn. Naše nakladatelství vzniklo už v roce 1996 a původně působilo pod názvem Barrister & Principal. Vydáváme knihy všech žánrů, včetně titulů na zakázku – ale jen takové, které se nám samým líbí.
Žijeme z prodeje knih. Občas získáme podporu na jednotlivý titul, například od Ministerstva kultury, Česko-německého fondu budoucnosti, Magistrátu města Brna, univerzit nebo od autorů samotných.
Nemáme marketingové oddělení ani strategické porady – většinu věcí děláme sami, od výběru rukopisu až po balení zásilek. Nehoníme se za počtem vydaných titulů, ale jde nám o to, aby každá kniha dávala smysl a byla poctivě udělaná.

ABOUT US
We are a family-run publishing house, co-owned by father and son. Our publishing house was founded back in 1996 and originally operated under the name Barrister & Principal. We publish books of all genres, including commissioned titles – but only those we genuinely like ourselves.
We make our living from selling books. Occasionally, we receive support for individual titles, for example from the Ministry of Culture, the Czech-German Future Fund, the City of Brno, universities, or from the authors themselves.
We don’t have a marketing department or strategic meetings – we handle most things ourselves, from selecting manuscripts to packing shipments. We’re not chasing the number of published titles; what matters to us is that each book makes sense and is made with care.
